Standby man training ppt: Whenever a confined space job is performed, the team meets and appoints a worker who is trained, competent, authorised and qualified to act as a standby man. The standby man must be suitably equipped to carry out the support duties and responsibilities without any hindrance, as the safety of all entrants depends on him.
A standby man oversees internal and external activities "in and around" the job in progress, such as when working in a confined space. He is stationed at the entry point of the confined space to monitor the work and sound the alarm in case of any emergency.
