What is discussed in a toolbox talk?
A Toolbox Talk covers special topics on safety aspects related to the specific job. The features of Toolbox Talk are:
- The meeting must be held at the work site.
- Last 5 to 10 minutes.
- Discuss and review points from previous observations.
- Discuss the tasks or activities to be carried out.
- Include issues of the environment, dangers, use of personal protective equipment, first aid and medical assistance, and emergency procedures.
- There may be a review and recap, sometimes with a quiz or test.
